New high-speed connection tech due from Apple

Whether the new connector tech will be part of the upcoming MacBook Pro update (rumored to happen February 24) or announced in another context is not clear. Intel has been working on a technology called Light Peak for years and recently said the initial version would be based on copper, as practical realities dictate more conventional technology.
Apple is expected to adopt this technology in the near future--but likely use a name other than Light Peak, a source familiar with this aspect of Apple's plans said. Intel has said in the past that the first products using Light Peak should appear in the first half of 2011.
When Intel initially demonstrated Light Peak at its developer conference in 2009 it used a machine running Apple's Mac OS X.
Light Peak was originally touted by Intel as the holy grail of connector technology: a single replacement for the myriad cables that connect to monitors, external drives, scanners, printers, and anything else that plugs into a computer. But Intel--and Apple--may be targeting more specific connection protocols, at least initially.
As originally proposed, the fiber-optic technology connects many devices to PCs with fiber-optic lines. But, as mentioned, the initial version of Light Peak will use copper instead of light-based technologies, Intel has said.

Light Peak is significantly faster than even USB 3.0, carrying data at 10 gigabits per second in both directions simultaneously. Connection speeds will not be affected by the transition to copper, according to Intel.
Sony is also expected to be an early adopter of the technology.
More on Light Peak can be found here, from an interview with Jason Ziller, an Intel manager heading up the chipmaker's work on the technology.

Sneak peek of Toyota innova exora!

Malaysia’s leading car maker proton has been eying the Indian car market for a while. But now it seems that an announcement is imminent, with plans to launch the Toyota Innova  revealing Exora as the vehicle with which they will enter the Indian marketplace. The exora is a 7 seater MPV similar in size to the innova at almost 4.6 meters long, 1.8 meters wide and 1.7 meters high,it is slightly longer and wider, but a tad lower than toyota’s best seller. Launch in 2009, the Exora is proton’s flagship vehicle and the malysian car maker has developed a lavishly luxurious car that is awash with all kind of gadgets and equipment. Other than ten(!) cup holders and a compartment on the floor in the luggage area to fit tools and first aid kit, there is also 12V power socket in the luggage area. Available in two trim levels the H – line and M- line –The Exora gets a front sit arm rest, tinted glass, cruise control and a GPS navigation system on the H-line. It also has leather treatment on the seats and on the door trims while the M- line gets fabric. The H-line also gets a DvD/LCD moniter that is mounted on the roof from the second row onwards. The player also has an SD or MMC slot, as well as a USB outlet. Plus there’s a dual-blower(Front and Rear cabin) air con system.
Powering the exora is a DOHC 16- Valve 1.6 – liter petrol engine that develops 125 BHP. And this is mated to a four speed automatic. Clearly , this power  train won’t work in India, given that the Innova offers so much- appreciated diesel power plant that would translate to decidedly lower running coasts. That’s where the project is stuck -`proton is looking at sourcing an appropriate a diesel power train(with a manual trainee) that could be plonked into the Exora for the Indian market.the vehicle will be assembled in india from CKD components and proton is in discussions with car makers like Hindustand motors to use their facilities for the same.

2010! an year in Indian Automobile Industry

2010 was a very good year in the Indian automobile industry, with sales rising by a record 31 percent.According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers(SIAM), car sales in india rose to 1.87 million in 2010,up from 1.47 million in 2009.

India is going to see a lot of new vehicle entering the market. While manufacturers like honda and toyota are aiming big with small vehicles like Brio and Etios, comes maruti suzuki know for it's small and fuel efficient cars, is starting this year with the biggest vehicle to ever set foot in the indian market - The Kizashi.. It's the most impressive car and has all the credentials to succeed in the indian market. Audi are all set to unleash the Beast Audi A8. It's the flagship of their brand and i also think that that the new A8 is not just an impressive machine, but can also lay a claim of the " Best Car In The World" crown.

So fasten your seatbelts as the ride only promises to get more exciting.

Apple Plans Small IPHONE?

I may be in quite the shake-up of the iOS world if Ethan Smith's new article in the WALL STREET JOURNAL has any weight to it.he makes pretty bold claims about a new ,less expensive iPhone which has an edge-to-edge screen and weighs quite a bit less than the current iPhone 4.
This line up pretty well with the "iPhone Nano" rumours that we have been seeing for years, and its certainly intriguing to see the wall street journal putting a stamp on it. Presumably, this smaller iPhone would behave more like a data "access point" than a place to store all of your music, movies and books. Those, says Smith, could be managed by Apple's MobileMe service (which would be turning into a free cloud computing service alongside the launch of the new phone), therefore eliminating the need for large amounts of storage space on the actual device. How well this would work is a topic still up for debate, but you know how it goes: Apple always finds a way.

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what Jobs (or Cook) has up his sleeve in the coming months. The WSJ article hints at a summer release for both the micro phone and the revamped MobileMe service.

Best Google prank of the century!

After an assumedly nasty break up, Jack Weppler's ex-girlfriend decided to smite him in the most public way possible. The wronged girl uploaded a pile of defamatory images to a picture-hosting website with Weppler's name as the filename, and Google image search did its magic. Labeling this a Computer Prank may be a stretch—it's probably something more along the lines of psycho-angry-ex-girlfriend-goes-completely-and-utterly-nuts—but it's whip clever.
The kid's family is desperately pleading for removal, but due to Google image cache issues, they're still up:

"My minor son's ex-girlfriend took a copyrighted picture of him (we own copyright) and uploaded it more than 60 times to a website. On each image she wrote slanderous, defamatory and pornographic captions. The webmaster of the site states he removed the images 6 weeks ago, but Google Search still shows all the images. My son is so stressed out and embarrassed and we've done everything we can to get images off of Google including URL removal tool, a letter to Google Legal with all the URLs because of copyright infringement, and nothing has worked!"
